At over 2020 meters above sea level, you can look forward to 85 kilometers of excellent pistes and maximum snow guarantee from December to mid/end of April. The legendary Sölden ski area is only about 30 driving minutes from your apartment in Oetz. All ski areas can be conveniently reached by public skibus shuttles which are free of charge.

The Ötztal Super Skipass gives access to the ski areas of Hochoetz-Kühtai, Sölden, Gurgl, Niederthai, Gries and Vent. Against the fabulous backdrop of the Alps, in precious silence, framed by the snow-covered winter landscape, you glide elegantly across the 2 km long and 8 m wide ice rink on lake Piburger See. You can easily rent ice skates at Gasthof Piburger See on site.

PLEASE NOTE: The natural ice surface is only open to ice skaters and walkers if the minimum thickness of ice layer is reached.

No less than three fun-packed toboggan runs promise endless tobogganing fun in the Oetz holiday region. They can all be combined with romantic winter hiking tours, followed by speedy downhill adventures. One of them is right next to the snow-covered lake Piburger See.
